The past month has flown by and I have leaned much more than I anticipated. I have interviewed for jobs and tomorrow I will interview for another job. For the last three years I have worked in a Kindergarten classroom hoping to get a job teaching this grade level. Well...that has not worked out the way I had hoped. I am interviewing for a third grade position tomorrow. A month ago I don't think I would have considered teaching third grade, but after this class I know that I CAN do this. I started thinking about all the Web 2.0 tools that we have learned about and I am excited about the possibility of teaching third grade. In kindergarten it would be January before you could really use any of the writing tools with consistency. But, in third grade you could hit the ground running. Student created podcasts, videos, VoiceThreads, the possibilities are endless. Will I be outside my comfort zone...oh yes...but if this class has taught me anything it is, you can do it! I am starting to feel like a Nike commercial. I will keep you posted. So stay tuned and find out if I get the job.

While working on the dictionary /lexicon I have had to go and look up some of the terms that are include in my paper. I thought that I was fairly tech savvy...not so! There is so much out there to use it is mind boggling. I have found one website that I really think will come in handy and that is the social bookmarking site, Diigo. I hope that I can pull it up at school..we'll see. I spent an afternoon putting all of the websites that I like using in the classroom. There were scattered all over a couple of computers and a flash drive and emails. So...I hope I will be able to use it at school. I will keep you posted.
